One Year On: Warburton Bike Park Celebrates Major Milestone as Southern Network Moves Forward

Warburton Bike Park is celebrating a significant milestone, marking one year since opening to riders, with exciting news that the park’s future growth has taken another major step forward. With more than 1,000 riders now visiting the park each week, demand shows no signs of slowing down.

Over the past twelve months, Warburton Bike Park has established itself as one of Australia’s premier mountain bike destinations, attracting riders from across the country and helping showcase the Yarra Valley as a world-class adventure tourism destination.

Since opening, the park has welcomed thousands of visitors who have come to experience its diverse range of trails, stunning forest landscapes and unique riding opportunities. The bike park has also delivered benefits beyond the trail network, supporting local businesses, accommodation providers, cafes, restaurants, and tourism operators throughout the region.

The anniversary provides an opportunity to reflect on the vision, partnerships and community support that have helped bring the project to life.

Unanimous Support for Southern Network Completion

Adding to the celebrations, this week Yarra Ranges Council unanimously endorsed a contract variation that will enable works to continue on the next stage of the bike park’s development with leading trail construction company World Trail.

The decision clears the way for construction to continue across the network, paving the way for completion of the highly anticipated Southern Network.

Building Toward the Full Vision

The approval allows World Trail to maintain momentum on site and continue delivering the remaining southern trail network that forms a key part of the bike park’s master plan.

This will bring a wide range of new trails for riders of all abilities, including:

• An alternative easy trail into Warburton
• Power climb options up to Edwardstown Junction and the Mt Tugwell summit
• Additional black gravity trails
• An epic adventure trail over Groom Hill and Mt Bride, reaching the highest point of the southern trails

Once completed, the Southern Network will expand the riding experience available at Warburton Bike Park, providing even more opportunities for riders of varying abilities to explore the area’s spectacular natural landscapes.

The progress represents an important milestone in the ongoing development of the park and reinforces the commitment of Council and project partners to delivering the full vision for Warburton Bike Park.
